Dr. Chris Siedem – Founder and President

csiedem@perfectcollegematch.com

720.352.7288

Dr. Siedem was a three-sport standout at Westhampton Beach High School in New York. He went on to pitch at Division III Haverford College in Pennsylvania, and later obtained his PhD in Chemistry at UCLA and spent nearly 20 years in research in the pharmaceutical industry, where he was an author or inventor on more than 30 scientific publications and patents. Dr. Siedem has coached athletes for 15+ years at HS and club levels, has 8 years of direct, personal experience with the athletic recruiting process, and is one of the rare individuals assisting student-athletes that hasn’t just been through it as a player and a coach, but as a parent as well; he sent both a daughter and a son on to play in the college ranks. Prior to founding PCM he served as Scouting Director for one of the major athletic recruiting services. In the last 4+ years he has directly assisted close to 200 student-athletes in finding the right opportunities in college.

John Mathiesen – National Director

John has spent over 35 years in professional sales and marketing companies representing small family businesses to Fortune 500 corporations.  He grew up in Southern California and attended USC where he majored in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration.  About 8 years ago, John left the corporate sales and marketing world and turned his attention to teaching families how marketing and networking is instrumental in the college admissions game.  Here his concentration is with student-athletes.  He has assisted hundreds of families in successfully navigating the admissions process, and has done the same for his own three children.  His oldest son went to a fantastic liberal arts school on the east coast where he was recruited to play baseball.  His second son was also heavily recruited, but for music, and he is currently finishing off his Masters at a prestigious university and conservatory on the west coast.  Finally his daughter was highly sought after and is currently attending an Ivy institution.  What struck John in the process was that not only are parents and students not guided correctly in this “business of admissions,” but they rarely even know how to approach it.  As he put it, “for our families that ends now!”  We are extremely excited that John has chosen to be part of the PCM family.  He is a rare career sales and marketing professional who can empathize with parents since he has actually walked in their shoes and is now guiding them on how to help their own children grab their collegiate future.
